So, I cheated this year for my #Top9Of2019 and used more than 9 photos in my collage this year! Here’s the rundown: (1) I was selected to my high school alma mater Hall of Fame with the induction ceremony coming up in January 2020; (2) I served as the public address announcer for a basketball game involving my current high school at the gym in Indiana where the movie “Hoosiers” was filmed; (3) I got back into coaching with our newly formed high school boys’ club volleyball team; (4) I served as a scorer at the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship at Gulf Shores, AL; (5) I was the team liaison for the the French men’s national volleyball team at the Volleyball Nations League finals in Chicago; (6) I went to the final round of U.S. Open golf tournament at Pebble Beach, CA and met some great friends in nearby San Francisco; (7) I was honored to be a presenter at the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame ceremony and got to catch up with great friends and former rivals; (8) Murphy had a great year as he gets closer to graduation and post-secondary opportunities plus going to snowy Chiefs playoff games with the old man; and (9) Having the chance to associate with tremendous people in officiating – it’s quite the brother and sisterhood!
All of this was in addition to my teaching job that I love in a school I’m proud of with fantastic colleagues I get to work with every day. I count my lucky stars regularly knowing that I have a life that I’m extremely fortunate to have. I hope and pray that your 2019 was terrific and that 2020 will take it up a notch or more!
