NOW

This is what I’m up to right now.

Honestly, during the 2022-23 school year, I felt adrift.  I was SO crazy busy (not just normal crazy busy) that I didn’t even have time to clean my house, much less plan for my long-term future.  Those tasks just seemed too insurmountable.

So, when faced with a gigantic task, you just have to start.  So, I did.  At the start of the summer, I got my to do list and my calendar written out and then began to check things off.  I also started seeing a therapist again.  The feeling of accomplishment returned, and I felt in control of my life again.

I realized that since Murphy left in 2020 to be a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO that it’s tough when he’s not around since it’s always my turn to do the chores!  Taking care of myself is something I felt like I’ve done a good job of, but I know I can always do better.

So, especially with retirement coming in three years, it will be here faster than I think, so I need to be a little more selfish and better plan my second career and creative pursuits.

I am taking more action to start in voice over with purchasing more equipment and software along with attending conferences and meeting people in the business.  I’ve started laying the foundation to upgrade my public address announcing contacts and events to hopefully work more international events (maybe even the Olympics…who knows?)!  More officiating will probably also happen upon retirement.  Also, traveling is always on the docket for me.  We’ll see where the wind takes me!
