One of the first books I read after I got divorced a few years ago was “The Art of Non-Conformity” by Chris Guillebeau. In short, he tries to break down how to live a remarkable life while existing in a conventional world. It was a game-changer for me in terms of how I look at the world, how I set my personal and professional goals, and how I approach my work, in general. I have tried to learn to be the best father I can be, to say “no” more often, to focus on what’s really important in life, to embrace travel a lot more, to get a lot smarter about my finances, and to begin to figure out the deeper questions about what my purpose is on this planet and what legacy I am supposed to leave.
Recently, I gifted this book to a friend which caused me to pick it up to read again. Like most things you do a second time, I now am gleaning new material from it that I apparently wasn’t in a position to receive the first time.
So, if you feel your life is in a state of flux, I would highly recommend checking this book out. Maybe it can help you out a little bit, too. #PayItForward
