CABO, MEXICO – JULY 2016

July 12, 2016

Yeah…I think we can make this work somehow. #cabo

I’m in heaven!

(Not because of the scenery here, but because Hos and Salvy both took Cueto deep and that the MLB International feed of the All-Star Game doesn’t contain Joe Buck.) #Royals

One of prettiest golf courses Murphy and I have ever played. I did my part in beautification by raking most of the sand on the course, since my ball went into nearly every single bunker.

Normally I’m upset when I hit the golf ball into the bunker, but for some reason, not this time!

40 feet horizontally on land is so much different that 40 feet vertically under water. #Cabo

The glass bottom boat tour was Murphy’s idea. Despite my penchant for seasickness and the fact we were taking a small, single engine boat, it turned out great! Thanks to the motion sickness meds I took, I didn’t feed the numerous fish we ended up seeing! Good idea, Murphy!! #Cabo

Oddly enough, I usually get this excited during faculty meetings. #MaybeNot #Cabo #Ziplining

Murphy and I went zip lining Friday in #Cabo, and the culminating activity was a 4,000 foot (2nd longest in Mexico) zip line over a canyon, dried up riverbed, and a forest of cacti. He was a little nervous about this one, called “Superman,” since they harness you face down, head forward. The GoPro on Murphy’s head captured minute and a half of fun that turned out just fine for him.

Not only did we zip line over a huge canyon, but the adventure included an upside down zip line, rock climbing, rappelling, a pendulum rope swing, a rope bridge, a tandem zip line, and finally, a 20-minute Polaris ATV run throughout the nearby dusty and sandy forest! What a great experience! #Cabo

For those of you who care, here is my Superman zip lining video (see my earlier post with Murphy’s video for the context of what this is).

One more little treat before we get on the plane today to come back home. Murphy was mesmerized by the manta rays flying out the water this morning right in front of him. #Cabo
